We’re delighted to welcome the highly respected Anne-Marie Pisani to the JCB team as First Peoples Design Partnerships Lead. Anne-Marie brings over 25 years of experience as a Landscape Architect working across the private, public, and government sectors. Her practice is grounded in environmental stewardship and community-led design, with a strong focus for culturally responsive and meaningful engagement with First Nations communities.
Having worked with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across Australia — and extensively throughout Victoria — Anne-Marie is a strong advocate for Indigenous-led design processes and meaningful partnerships. She brings a deep personal commitment to her professional experience to working respectfully alongside Country and community.
“As someone who has married into a Victorian Aboriginal family with deep connections to culture, my perspective is both personal and grounding. We’re proud to be raising our two daughters to feel confident in and proud of who they are — with a strong sense of belonging that continues to shape how I approach my work, seeking to create environments that are respectful, meaningful and lasting.”
Anne-Marie will work closely with Sarah Lynn Rees across JCB’s Indigenous Architecture and Advisory portfolio, supporting a growing body of Country-led projects and a number of exciting new commissions taking shape in the coming months. She will continue her advocacy for Indigenous-led design processes that ensure Traditional Owner voices help guide every stage of planning, design and delivery.
Anne-Marie is a member of the Office of the Victorian Government Architect’s Design Review Panel as well as the City of Melbourne’s Design Review Panel.
We’re excited to have Anne-Marie join the studio and look forward to the knowledge, leadership and care she brings to the team and our projects.
