Exciting news - two of our projects were recognised at the 2024 Australian Interior Design Awards!
Berninneit Cultural and Community Centre was awarded the top honour in the public category, taking home the Award for Public Design.
Citation: “Berninneit is a beautiful community space that is light, airy and extremely welcoming. It has an integrated architectural and interior response, which amplifies the sense of connection with the outdoors.” The jury applauded its commitment to sustainability via a Passivhaus approach and use of mass timber, as well as its integration of First Nations’ design principles.
AFSE Hub, based at the University of Melbourne, received a Commendation for Workplace Design. Our design process focused on drawing Country into the building, evoking the creek line, woodland and outcrop that once lay below, with every aspect of the design prioritising identity of place and economic opportunity for Indigenous peoples.
Congratulations to both project teams and thanks to the juries for this recognition.
