Last week at the 2026 Victorian AILA awards, the St Kilda Pier Redevelopment was recognised with the VIC Award of Excellence for Civic Landscape.

The jury commended the project, a collaboration between JCB, Site Office and AW Maritime, for its “grace, confidence and just enough whimsy”, calling it “an exceptional civic landmark; resilient, generous and unmistakably St Kilda.”

Anne-Marie Pisani, JCB’s First Peoples Design Partnerships Lead, was also recognised for her leadership of the ngurrak-ba wurrung balit Country Voice Strong - Indigenous Design and Engagement Protocols – which won the Award of Excellence for Landscape Planning. The project was delivered in her former role at ASPECT.

Congratulations to the ASPECT team, who worked in collaboration with Yarra Ranges Council and Wurundjeri Woi-Wurrung Cultural Heritage Aboriginal Corporation.

The jury commended the project for being “the first of its kind in local government. Country Voice Strong provides a clear guide for Council officers on how to design with Country through a genuine partnership model with Traditional Owners.”
